We are looking for a full time team member to help us make business happen in a big way for our team, and, most importantly, for our clients.

We are lovingly referring to the person who will fill this role as the Queen (or King) of Making It Happen, our Business Activator, and our Lead Enabler.

About Modern Direct Seller

Our mission is to provide practical training to empower Modern Direct Sellers to reach their big goals and find success in direct sales. Within our company, we support individual direct sellers in our signature offering, the Modern Direct Seller Academy. We provide training and consulting for direct sales companies including keynote speeches, live and virtual training, toolkits, and sales and marketing consulting. We have a website builder platform called Oh My, Hi that allows direct sellers to easily create their own website and blog to build their online presence and grow outside of social media. We also have a small shop where we sell physical products we’ve created (notebooks, notepads, etc.) as well as gifts and products from external sources. You can view our products here.

What will this role encompass on any given day:

This position will be involved in all aspects of the business. The right candidate should thrive in an environment where they wear many hats, enjoy variety and working on many different projects at the same time.

Any work day will consist of working closely with the founders and doing a combination of the following. The percentages are estimates for how much time will be spent on each.

 

Project Management (70%)

  • Manage all active projects we have open and work with the team to drive them to completion
  • Taking ownership of new projects, in partnership with our Founders, and driving them to completion
  • Foresee schedule conflicts or resource limitations that could impact delivery/schedule
  • Coordinating with contractors and vendors to make sure projects are moving forward (design, new marketing campaigns, new client services)
  • Execute on activities that improve client experience – Ensuring our clients are being taken care of in the best ways possible and that we don’t drop the ball when it comes to serving
  • Execute all launch activities to ensure success (includes review and feedback on landing pages, managing the team, reviewing and sending emails, etc.)
  • Track metrics and manage our CEO Dashboard
  • Make recommendations on how we can operate more efficiently as a team and implement those recommendations
  • Maintain, manage, and make updates in various systems (project management, LMS, email, CRM, website, etc.)
  • Create agenda for weekly team meetings and bring up any issues/roadblocks

Customer Support (15%)

  • Oversee all email traffic and ensure responses are made in a timely matter
  • Make sure our support is staying top notch and high quality
  • Handle decisions that are passed on by first line support
  • Keep an eye on our FB groups and ensure responses are being provided when needed

Sales & Marketing (10%)

  • Draft proposals and contracts and manage until signed off
  • Generate and send invoices and track/follow up until paid
  • Manage lead list / CRM by ensuring lead status is updated and sales staff is following up and having calls with leads
  • Review and schedule emails

Shop (5%)

  • Manage inventory
  • Send weekly shipping list to our fulfillment center
  • Research and order products
  • Select gifts for our VIP and Corporate clients and send required info to our fulfillment center for delivery

The right candidate will:

  • Embrace a “get it done” mindset and bring a positive attitude to all situations
  • Be adaptable and ready to pivot or change course at anytime – Don’t get down in the dumps when a project you are working on gets delayed
  • Understand the importance of business metrics and looking at the numbers
  • Have no problem getting in the weeds to get the job done
  • Have a passion for business and leadership development
  • Have the ability to learn independently by using Google, watching videos, etc.
  • Be a rockstar at communicating with a team and organizing a team around specific tasks
  • Be highly adept at learning online technology fast – Bonus if you have experience with WordPress, ClickUp, online marketing funnels, Canva, etc. and then train others by creating screencasts and tutorials
  • Bonus if you have fun writing copy and documenting systems and processes using Google Docs, Scribe or other software

  • This is a work from home/anywhere position – yes… Anywhere! As long as you have working internet, you can take this job anywhere.
  • Working hours are highly flexible, but core hours during the business day will be defined
  • Success in this role is a two part formula – Being able to see the overall vision for the business and aligning all of the moving parts. In addition, there will be specific projects you will own and drive to completion independently.
  • We would love for the right candidate to grow in this position and ultimately become our Operations or General Manager as our business continues to grow.

Location: This is a remote, full-time position with room to grow! No agencies, please.

We are located in San Diego, CA and primarily work between 9AM and 2PM PT Monday thru Friday. When you choose to work is flexible, but you need to have some availability during our normal work time to support meetings, collaborate, etc.
