Looking Back at 10 Years of Business Growth with Becky & Jeremy Launder

Every business has a starting point. For Becky and Jeremy, it began long before Modern Direct Seller was even an idea. From early sparks of entrepreneurship to building a family-run brand that now supports tens of thousands of direct sellers, this chapter of their story is packed with lessons, laughs, and reminders that big things often start small.

From Cookie Sales to Car Stereos

Long before Modern Direct Seller, Becky and Jeremy were testing their entrepreneurial instincts. Jeremy’s first venture, Launder Electronics, began when he was 18 and wanted a discount on car stereo equipment. Becky got her start selling Girl Scout cookies, later turning creative hobbies into small side businesses. Some ideas—like a wiffle ball league and the unforgettable “PeePee Pants”—never made it past the planning stage, but each one sparked the drive to keep creating and learning.

Finding Direct Sales and a Better Fit for Family Life

After years in corporate roles, everything shifted when their kids arrived. Becky found her stride with Usborne Books and Matilda Jane Clothing, businesses that fit perfectly around family life. Those early wins also inspired a small training blog—My Consultant Training—that quickly grew beyond her own team. It was the first glimpse of what would become Modern Direct Seller.

Building Something Bigger

By 2018, the Launders began treating their side business like the real deal, launching their first course, publishing a book, and growing a thriving email list. When 2020 arrived, Jeremy left his 15-year engineering career, the Modern Direct Seller Podcast made its debut, and the business experienced its biggest year of growth yet. Even their short-lived subscription box had its moment. It didn’t turn a profit, but it created major buzz and community excitement.

Scaling, Milestones, and Momentum

From 2021 through 2023, growth accelerated. Memberships expanded, new course content launched, and Becky began speaking on more corporate stages. Along the way, they earned recognition from DSA Canada and reached a major milestone, crossing $500K in annual revenue. Each step proved that consistent, focused action compounds over time.

A New Chapter with Oh My Hi

Looking ahead, Oh My Hi has taken center stage. The software platform allows direct sellers and small business owners to create their own websites and automate more of their marketing, bringing scalability and freedom to a business that once relied on Becky’s personal delivery. Today, it’s generating six-figure recurring revenue and helping creators well beyond the direct sales space.

Lessons Learned Along the Way

From early experiments to industry milestones, Becky and Jeremy’s journey is a reminder that growth rarely happens in a straight line. The key is taking decisive, sometimes messy action, thinking long-term, and surrounding yourself with a community that encourages bold moves and steady progress.
