2025 in Review with Becky & Jeremy Launder, Co-Founders of Modern Direct Seller & Oh My Hi
Not every year ends with fireworks. Some years, you work hard, stay consistent, and still finish wondering if you should have done more.
For Becky and Jeremy, 2025 was one of those years. Growth happened, but just not in the explosive way they’d imagined. But sometimes, the quieter years teach the loudest lessons.
The Trap of Always Wanting More
There’s a particular challenge that comes with being wired for achievement. You hit a goal, and before you can even celebrate, your brain is already dissecting what went wrong. Could that launch have been bigger with one more email? Would a Q&A session have tipped the scales?
2025 brought steady, incremental growth for both the Academy and Oh My Hi. In an online business landscape where many saw stagnation or decline, moving forward at all felt like a win. But it also required making peace with the gap between expectation and reality.
When a Win Sneaks Up on You
January started with a training called Party Like It’s 2025. It wasn’t part of a big campaign, just content designed for existing Academy members. What no one anticipated was how much those members would love it.
They grabbed their affiliate links and shared it everywhere. By month’s end, nearly 300 new people had joined. No paid ads, no elaborate funnel. Just good content and organic word-of-mouth.
That one unexpected success changed the entire year. The spring challenge? Canceled. Summer mini-offers? Gone. Fall challenge? Also cut. Instead, time and energy flowed toward building Oh My Hi and deepening relationships with corporate clients.
Building What You Can’t See
Oh My Hi crossed $100,000 in annual recurring revenue in 2025. Behind that milestone was an entirely new layer of operations. The platform evolved from a simple website builder into something more robust: email marketing, CRM functionality, multiple templates.
But as features expanded, so did customer requests. Many people didn’t want to build their own sites. They wanted someone to do it for them. Creating done-for-you services meant designing onboarding calls, file collection workflows, review processes, and follow-up systems.
Partnerships became the real growth engine. Collaborating with established communities positioned Oh My Hi as the go-to solution for people who needed websites but didn’t want to DIY.
When Good Ideas Don’t Work Out
The affiliate incentive trip seemed like a no-brainer. A points-based system modeled after direct sales incentives. A San Diego retreat for top performers. But participation lagged. The trip was canceled.
One unexpected bright spot emerged: monthly founder happy hours. Casual Zoom hangouts where Becky and Jeremy shared updates and answered questions. Those informal check-ins became a hit, and they’re coming back in 2026.
The Shift Toward Sustainability
In 2024, Becky traveled constantly for corporate consulting work. In 2025, she scaled back. Fewer trips. Deeper work with key clients. More time at home. Jeremy coached multiple baseball and softball seasons. The family took more vacations.
Academy membership numbers dipped slightly, but revenue increased. More members upgraded to Pro and VIP tiers, seeking deeper engagement and hands-on support.
What 2026 Looks Like
Party Like It’s 2026 returns in January. Oh My Hi rolls out its Project Broadcast integration for text marketing. Messaging is getting refreshed to highlight what really sets the platform apart: team support and community.
The infrastructure is in place. The team is strong. The offers are proven. Some years are about explosive growth. Other years are about laying groundwork. 2025 was the latter. And that might be exactly what was needed.
