12 Things That I do on the Regular to Build My Brand on Social Media:

1. Consistency

When I think about consistency, it’s showing up regularly. For me, I’ve been consistently hosting live sessions every Monday on our social pages. Being with my community every single week is huge for me and I’ve found that I’ve kind of trained the algorithm (and my audience) to expect me to show up. This consistency has built a loyal viewership who tunes in specifically for those sessions.

2. Content Planning

My content planning workflow relies on batch scheduling with CinchShare, my favorite social media scheduling tool. They offer a free 30-day trial if you’re interested (link below)! Beyond scheduling, CinchShare allows me to centrally store content and easily reschedule it across different platforms.

3. Repurposing Content

Repurposing content for wider reach is key to my strategy. One of the ways that I’m doing that is  by using the “collaborate” feature so when I post a reel on Instagram, it appears both on Modern Direct Seller and my personal page. This has nearly doubled my reach! If you have separate business and personal accounts, consider this feature to tap into both audiences simultaneously.

4. Sending Quick Notes

Don’t underestimate the power of a quick note! I cannot tell you how many conversations have been opened because I simply say, “thanks for the follow” when someone follows me. It’s a fantastic way to learn where people discover you and opens the door for further interaction.

5. Automation

If you’ve been hanging out here for a bit, you hear me talk about automation a lot. It’s a powerful tool to scale your business alongside AI and other systems. One area of automation in my business that I’m loving is happening on my Facebook. If you haven’t played around with the automation to send messages to the people who like or engage with your business page, definitely check that out. It’s totally free right now.

6. Call-to-action

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably see me do this all the time. Because if you don’t have a call-to-action, they’re just going to keep on scrolling and go onto the next thing. But if you say something like, “Comment ‘SUMMER’ below if you want to hear about the Get Social This Summer training,” people know to comment with that keyword to show their interest.

7. Stories

I try to be consistent about showing up on stories. Right now, it’s every other day, or at least a few times a week. And it doesn’t even have to be super polished — sometimes I just share a couple of things behind the scenes! The beauty of stories is that when people are engaging and responding back, it goes directly into your direct messages, and we know that is where the magic happens.

8. Facebook’s Text + Background Feature

If you hang out with me on Facebook, you’ve seen me do this. The big, solid, bold backgrounds with a simple one to two-sentence post or call-to-action. I’m telling you, this is where I get the most engagement. It’s simple and easy. I don’t have to take a picture. I don’t have to do my hair. I don’t have to make a video. I don’t have to do anything except write some words with a big, bold background — and it gets attention. So if you’re hanging out on Facebook, whether that’s in a group, on a page, or on your personal profile, utilize those plain backgrounds and those big, bold fonts. I’m telling you, they are the secret sauce. That’s what’s working right now and I’m going to ride that wave out as long as I can because I know that’s something that captures people’s attention.

9. Cross-Posting

Cross-posting on different platforms is a powerful strategy to maximize your content reach. For example, we don’t just limit our reels to Instagram and Facebook. We expand their reach by repurposing them as YouTube Shorts, Pinterest video pins, and Stories. Occasionally, we’ll even post on LinkedIn or TikTok depending on the content’s suitability.

10. Facebook Groups

If you have a Facebook group that you are growing, make sure that you have those membership questions on. This gives you the opportunity to ask people three questions when they request to join your Facebook group and a great way to grow your email list.

11. Google Chrome Newsfeed Eradicator

If you haven’t used this before, it’s a Chrome extension that removes your newsfeed from your desktop version of Facebook, and instead, replaces it with an inspirational quote. Let’s face it, those adorable baby pictures, cute animal videos, and life updates from friends can be major distractions. This extension acts like an off switch, preventing you from endless scrolling and lets you get back to work.

12. Active Response

The last one is really being intentional about responding to any and every comment you get. I get that if you’re showing up in a lot of places, it’s easy to overlook comments. However, social media is meant to be social. Part of it is engaging back with your followers, responding to their stories and comments, and being thoughtful and aware of what they have going on in their life.
