Peace Out 2024, Hello 2025: Reflecting on a Bold Year with Becky & Jeremy Launder
As we wrap up 2024 and get ready to dive into 2025, we’re taking a moment to reflect on what made this year memorable. It’s been a year of bold moves, big wins, lessons learned, and exciting new ventures—and we’re thrilled to share it all with you. From business milestones to personal highlights, here’s a look back at 2024 and what we’re excited about for the year ahead.
The Bold Moments of 2024
At the start of the year, Becky chose the word “bold” as her guiding theme—and wow, did that word come to life! Some standout wins include:
- Recognition and Awards: Becky was named a “Woman to Watch” in Social Selling News, and the Modern Direct Seller team received a prestigious award from DSA Canada.
- Corporate Growth: Over the past two years, we’ve shifted focus to generating more corporate partnerships. This year, corporate work grew from 5% to 50% of our business. Highlights include delivering keynotes and training series for companies like Color Street, Jafra, Pure Haven, Jordan Essentials, and Tastefully Simple.
- Oh My Hi Launch: After months of hard work, we launched the new version of Oh My Hi, a website builder with an integrated CRM and email marketing tool designed to simplify business operations. It was a delayed launch, but seeing over 150 users dive in has made it worth the wait.
- Workshops and Community: From our spring and fall challenges to the 2025 Planning Workshop and digital marketing courses, we loved connecting with and empowering our community this year.
Personal Highlights
It wasn’t all business in 2024! Here are some moments that stood out:
- Family Adventures: From managing busy baseball and softball schedules to unforgettable vacations in Sedona, Las Vegas, and Hawaii, this year was packed with family fun. Swimming with manta rays in Hawaii ranks as one of our coolest life experiences yet!
- New Beginnings: Becky handed off her role as co-president of the PTA, while Jeremy stepped down as head of the school’s dad’s crew, transitioning into advisory roles. This gave us more balance and time for new pursuits.
- The Office Transformation: Our revamped office space has been a game-changer, creating a clear boundary between work and home life while also serving as a hub for productivity—and the occasional poker night!
Lessons Learned
Of course, no year is without its challenges. Here’s what didn’t go exactly as planned:
- Oh My Hi Delays: We initially planned to launch earlier in the year, but balancing corporate commitments and operations pushed it back to November.
- Growth Goals: While retention in the Modern Direct Seller Academy remained strong, we didn’t hit our ambitious growth targets. Still, we’re proud of the incredible loyalty and engagement from our Academy members.
- Balancing It All: A packed travel schedule over the summer made for a hectic family dynamic, but teamwork (and a lot of juggling) helped us navigate the busiest months.
Looking Ahead to 2025
The coming year promises to be full of new opportunities and growth. Here’s what we’re most excited about:
- Expanding Oh My Hi: With partner launches in new niches beyond direct sales, 2025 will bring fresh opportunities for this growing tool. We’re thrilled to collaborate with amazing partners and see where this next chapter takes us.
- Corporate Collaborations: We’re kicking off 2025 with a new corporate client and exciting speaking engagements. Stay tuned for updates!
- Work-Life Balance: With kids out of school for the summer, we’re focused on better time-blocking to balance work and family—especially during conference season.
- Training & Community: We’re adding more specialized training and community support for Oh My Hi users while continuing to provide value-packed content for the Modern Direct Seller Academy.
