Summer Reading Challenge
Feel free to check out how I set up my 2017 Summer Reading Challenge. Participating in the challenge requires children to collect pledges and read a minimum of 400 minutes over 6 weeks. I ran a very similar successful challenge in 2016, too. One of the biggest perks was a few of the parents ended up joining my team! We used their pledges as the first order as a new team member.
Watch my short Summer Reading Challenge training video for inspiration and ideas of how to run your own challenge. Summer is just beginning – it’s not too late to set up your own challenge to run over July and August. Do it now so you can enjoy the summer sunshine!
As an added bonus, here are my editable files you can modify so you can create your own challenge even faster. Enjoy!
Hi, Becky! I love your site! So, the pledges are just cash or checks that get turned into you, and those pledges are then turned into orders for them? I’m just confused about the pledging part of it. How do they sell the idea of family and friends pledging money toward their reading goals?
Hi Liz! Thanks so much 🙂 Think of it like a jog-a-thon! The kids commit to reading a certain amount and then collect the funds once they hit the goal/complete the challenge. Hope this helps!
Hi Becky! Thank you for this awesome resource!!! I found your website after I joined as a new consultant and your resources, ideas, and business tips are superior.
Thanks for all your helpful tools and info. Can you share your certificate of completion if you have an editable one? and if not, would still love to see the wording. Thanks!
