How My Book Biz Changed from Year 1 to Year 2
As I’m writing this blog post, I’m literally in the sky on my way to Disney World in Florida. It’s pretty incredible that Usborne Books & More has paid the way for my whole family, including my mother-in-law, to enjoy a trip of a lifetime. So many family memories will be made – I’m beyond excited. Right now, my two year old is asleep on my lap (WHAT?!)  and my daughter is enjoying some screentime with her whatif monster headphones on (ha, it’s vacay, right?!). As I have a tiny bit of quiet time, I’m completely blown away that this is real life.
In the last two years, I’ve grown a team of 130+ amazing book-loving mamas and dads. I’ve promoted to Senior Team Leader and was honored to be awared a giant “Team Leader of the Year” trophy that sits on my desk. I’ve shared amazing books with kids around the country and built relationships with customers and given free books to my local schools. I’ve found my tribe of uzzie buddies that I talk to nearly everyday. I get to leverage my strengths and share training with all of you. I get to do this business with my hubby and we set business lunch dates over beer to brainstorm what’s next and how we’re going to take this book biz to the next level. Most importantly, I have more time home with my kids. My daughter heads to elementary school this fall and I’m so grateful that because of Usborne Books & More, I’ve had the freedom and flexibility to head to the zoo or Sea World mid-week, not to worry about taking sick days and I get to treasure each of the precious moments a little more in the midst of the chaos of parenting. I’m a pretty lucky book lady.
Before I left on the trip, I made a short video just reflecting about how my business has changed in the last year. It was helpful for me to hear from my upline leaders on how their business evolved during their journey, so I thought I’d share mine. Here are a few thoughts about my book business from Year 1 to Year 2.
