Build Your Dream Team

While you are still in learning mode, the idea of adding someone to your team may sound daunting. However, recruiting (the Usborne Books & More word for adding team members) is the very best way to grow your reach, impact, and business from the very beginning. It’s not mandatory by any means, but it does put you on a path to be a future Team Leader which comes with a pay increase! In the meantime, you will be your new team member’s sponsor and your team leader will continue to help with training and support, while you cheer on and learn alongside your new team member.

Before you skip the post in your Facebook parties about asking questions about the business or shy away from mentioning it in your home party, take a few minutes to think about the impact YOU can create on another family by sharing the business opportunity. Whether they are looking for some additional income (really, who isn’t?!) or if a mom is looking for a hobby to make her own, just by simply asking a question like “Have you ever thought about doing something like this?” can invite a conversation about joining.

Watch this quick video to learn:

  • Why growing your team early & often will accelerate your business and income
  • How to approach recruiting confidently even if you’re just starting out
  • Tips and tools to lean on as you’re learning how to grow your team (leaders’ stories, books & biz, take a look, recruiting packet)
  • What to say so you don’t weird out your friends! 😉

Becky’s Bonus Tip: Having a recruiting conversation takes some practice. So, practice… over and over and over!

I’m excited about this because it will move me out of my comfort zone! I think it will be a challenge for me to recruit, but by seeing what everyone else is doing and the fruit of their work, it inspires me to give it my best shot. 🙂

She told me her story about earning enough within a short period of time to be able to quit her corporate job. I saw the real potential of this business then and the spark was ignited.

I need to get started in order to build a foundation. The way for me to feel more confident is to actually set up and run with this. Erika said what I felt too. I have read the work book but now it is time to move ahead.

My team leader posted it in the facebook party and we talked over messenger since she’s in a different state. She was very open to me joining when I could (I was finishing my 2nd master’s at the time) and a few months later I joined up!

I was actually searching for a direct sales company but nothing caught my eye until my friend invited me to a FB party and I loved the books. The next day I reached out to the consultant and signed up, lol!! She really didn’t have to say much just posted the opportunity on the FB event page.

My husband and I had attended the NC Annual Homeschooling Conference, and I had fallen in love with the Usborne booth. When we got back home, I was pondering over and over in my head about joining when coincidentally a friend invited me to join her party. I immediately responded yes to her invitation, and signed up with her consultant! (With which I’ve made great friends with!) I hadn’t even hosted or witnessed a party yet! I was just in-love with the books! <3

That’s awesome, Sierra! I fell in love with the books right away, too! You’re going to do great. Enjoy the adventure with your new book biz! 🙂

I was really holding out for some reason. I was in a VIP group and the consultants left Usborne a few months ago. I very clearly remember pouring over the digital catalog after I hosted my party because I got a TON of rewards. Finally pulled the trigger when I decided this would give me more of a feeling of control over my life, a discount on books, and a chance to learn a little about the business world. I love the idea of offering those opportunities to other women.

I attended a party and dismissed hosting or joining. We had to comment if we have ever considered it and my response was no way, I run businesses and I am too busy, plus right now I am in busy season and my mom doesn’t even have an apt with me until March. My team Leader has a sweet way of being persistent with no pressure. She asked if she should call me in April. I laughed but that was the end of it. A few days later after thinking on it, I decided to host because my list was just too long and she was offering an extra prize if I booked with my order. What really got me, was Liz mailed me a full catalog. I could touch it, read it, look at it…. My list got longer. I started taking pictures of the books I thought my friends would like. That catalog was my doom! I still didn’t join, but I had an amazing party because I kept messaging suggestions to my friends. It wasn’t until 6 months later Liz did a mystery hostess party. I wanted to see the new releases so I joined. She did the post where you ask questions about being a consultant to earn points. I was trying to rack up points but the responses lured me in. She didn’t have to say anything, I contacted her about joining. She may have been more aggressive(like asked me to join, lol) if I had shown interest but I went out of my way to prove I didn’t have time to do it and I had no interest at all, because I didn’t. At all. HA. She got me anyway.

The things she did that got me: -No pressure. -Mailed me a catalog when I hosted. -Got me to join her VIP page. -Posted about new books. -Had a mystery hostess party. -Got a large conversation going about the business at that party. I have this list ready because I have already thought about what she did to get me on her team! I want to remember to do the same little things with my hosts so I don’t miss an opportunity!

ohhhh good tip about the catalog!! My biggest takeaway about this is Liz stayed connected to you as a customer and then it turned into a biz opportunity. That happens SO often. That’s why having a VIP group and hosting your own parties truly makes a BIG difference in growing your business over the long-haul. All those little things add up and you never know who in your VIP group is watching you and when the timing is right, might just jump in and join your team! I love it. Thanks for sharing, Erika!

I attended a party of a friend and decided to host my own with her. I think the parties are so fun! So I was commenting and replying with everyone – having a good time! She messaged me and told me I was a natural! My retail management skills really kicked in and I went into sales mode. After a couple conversations and attending a Books & Biz, I decided to join!

First off i had fun at the party I attended & my sponsor just sent a few simple pms asking if wanted to place my order as she followed up. She asked me if i would throw a party to help my friend reach her goal & then asked if i had considered being a consultant. I had already been wanting to make some extra money & when she told me you only have a $75 start up fee AND you get 10 free books she definitely had my attention. She also explained i would probably make that $75 if I joined before my party. She was right! I think that my sponsor was both genuine and passionate and the fact that she was not pushy and was patient with me made me have more trust in her. We just connected upon first pming & it went from there
