WHY? WHY? WHY?

30daytraining, UBAM | 82 comments

So, why did you sign up? Do tell! Of course, there’s the books. Duh! They’re amazing, right?! It’s too hard to resist the value of the Usborne Books & More Starter Kit. Let’s dive a little deeper. You may have signed up with a clear idea of how this business opportunity can be a game-changer for your family. Or, you could have been like me: just mesmerized by the books and wanting ALL the books for your family. It was a few short months later when I realized WHY this opportunity presented itself to me and WHY I was going to do everything in my power to use this biz to change the course of my family’s life.

What’s your “why” or your motivation? For many of us,  as mamas, our “why” is our family. We want to create an income that is going to cover dance classes and family trips. We want to create the best future for our kids and financially be in a position to do that with ease. Your “why” might be to have something for yourself because every ounce of your energy is focused on taking care of your family. Hey, having a hobby that gets you a paycheck is pretty awesome.

Watch this short video to learn:

  • Why you need to think about your WHY
  • How to leverage your WHY to elevate your business
  • How to keep your WHY front-and-center when the going gets tough

Becky’s Bonus Tip: Create a visual dream board and put your WHY in the middle. Keep this on your desk, the backdrop of your phone or laptop. Let it serve as a constant reminder of WHY you are here.

Your To-Do List:

  • Watch this short, 3-minute video all about WHY.
  • Take a few minutes and jot down your WHY somewhere– even on a post-it!
  • Leave a comment below and share your WHY.
  • Download the 30 Day Launch Workbook.

My why is I want to be able to do things without feeling guilty. My husband does all the work and pays all our bills and I keep the house a float but I wanna be able to go on vacation, or buy the fun toys for my daughter without feeling bad or in debt.

My why is easy for me. Other than of course the flexibility of having my own business, I have always dreamed of having my own bookstore. When I was a child my dad had a used bookstore, and I got to help in it. So, my why is to in a sense have my own bookstore, have fun, and the flexibility to take my job anywhere and not necessarily be tied down to a desk.

My why? this is difficult because I really just want to spread my love to these books and earn money while I do it:) I would love to go back to working part-time as a nurse, my only fear is that I will be spending a lot of time on my phone or computer at home. I promised myself and my husband that I wouldn’t;t let it take over my life but I am an all-in kind of person and I want to be successful.

I totally get that! I love the flexibility of being able to work from home and work on-the-go, but you do have to remember why you got started. You don’t want it to take over and creating boundaries is so important. Try to set some “office hours” of when you’re on (and off) so you can keep family #1. 🙂

I have lots of “Whys”! I had thought about joining Usborne for many months but the “timing” just never seemed right. We recently moved away from a city we loved with people we loved and where we fell in love with Usborne. I am having a hard time with the move and needed something to feel that void of missing my friends and in hopes that this new venture would help me make new ones here. I also needed something of “my own”.

Why ? So crazy, I seen the June special…it said to me… Now is your chance…chance for what ? And why ?
This is my chance to show my grandchildren how important it is to read and the journey/ exploring and adventures it takes you on. And why ? More family time, extra funds for family outings, and a little added for retirement and because it brings everyone together when someone shares a great book they love, so why not share.

My WHY is my family, of course! Time is always limited for us and we (My husband and I) always feel that we can’t miss a day of work because it will affect other things. I would like to be able to make a little extra income to be able to have more flexibility and wiggle room in other areas. Besides this, I love books and so does my son so I am hoping to be able to build his library and promote literacy to everyone I can possible.

My why: my daughter loves books, and I want to be able to feed that amazing interest. I also would love to be able to afford this interest, getting books at a discount is huge for me. Then being able to make income off of selling these incredible books, only provides us with more funds for more books.

I joined because it sounded like an interesting opportunity to fill my NEW house with my NEW library up with books for my kids! After seeing that I could really succeed, I realised that having a “hobby” that I loved and has the potential to let me be creative (making graphics), socialize (I live in a very remote location with limited interaction to anyone but my family), and have something that was MINE!! I love my kids and such, but this is all MINE!! …and let’s me do something for THEM at the same time:) Thanks for the fantastic videos.

My Why: I love these books. We are expecting our first child this year and also have tons of nieces, nephews, friends’ kids and our extended family is involved with Foster Care. I want to build a library for not just my family but as many kids as possible. I want to be able to give books (at no cost to myself) to kids in the foster care system. So that’s my big reason…

And flexibility. Babies are expensive and since I’m already working from home part-time this is a great way to add some extra income for all those added expenses. I’d love to be able to pay off some debt and then add to a college fund for our kids.

And books…Give me ALL the books.

Thankfully you have provided material to help me refocus and remember what I first thought about Usborne Books and becoming a part of this. The WHY for me is that my primary goal in life is to promote more opportunities for children to have to improve their lives in a positive way. I have always had children in my life and their importance becomes my drive to help provide educational enrichment activities through books! As Grandmother one of my major purchases over the years has been Books! I consider them Treasures which can bring joy, information, fun and relaxation throughout their years. Money is not the primary objective but if doing this brings me rewards which can make my life with my husband more fun at our old age, then that is a bonus.

I wanted to join because I love the books! And because my son, who never seems to stop moving, will sit and read these with me. Also, I liked the flexibility of this second job as opposed to working in a store where I punch a time clock. As a teacher I definitely needed a second job.

  24. Jen Wilkosz

As a teacher, I wanted to get a second job that I could do in the summers or over break but that would be difficult with specific times I’d have to be there and couldn’t be with my son. This allows me much more flexibility and an opportunity to make more money for my family.

My why is my family. With a full time job, bringing in extra income is not easy, as I don’t have a ton of free time. I joined Usborne Books and More for personal growth outside from just being a wife and mom. Being able to build that home library every child deserves. I also, want to share my love for these books and to become a force of literacy within my community. I too have several reasons for wanting to join this company. It started when I saw Usborne booths and could not take my eyes off the books. I wanted to pick up every single book, look through them all, and take half of the table home with me! I recognized the books since we already own a few of the “That’s Not My…” collection. I have always loved children’s books and more so now that I too have little ones at home. I also need to find a way to contribute financially, but really still deeply desire the flexibility of not having to work 8-5 with no summers off, and do not yet want to put my toddler daughter into full-time preschool at a high cost.
i will be thrilled to find books that work for us, for others and to add a little money to our bank account.

My dog also brings the outdoors in, he loves to roll in the grass! This being said, my why is to afford a house cleaner once a month and if my income is bigger, I want to provide money for more house projects; decor, new furniture, updates and landscaping.
